NEVER USE CRAIG VAN LINES IT IS A FRAUDULENT COMPANY

I also have had a disasterous moving experience using Craig. The firm is incompetent. When dealing with Leslie Craig you receive lies, distortions of the facts, misrepresentations and directions to deal with a firm "MOVERS CHOICE" when making claims. MOVERS CHOICE appears to be an insurance broker expert in stalling and redirecting claimants to an adjusted who is equally expert at stalling. To be blunt, CRAIG VAN LINES practices consumer fraud and is used to getting away with it. Business as usual. DO NOT EMPLOY this firm unless you want nothing but heartbreak caused by lost and damaged furnishings. CRAIG's motto should be "WE DON'T GIVE A *** ABOUT WHAT YOU ENTRUST US TO MOVE". Filing a damage claim is a joke! If you want real justice file a law suit. First try small claims court!

Stay Away From CRAIG VAN LINES

I should have stayed away when the owner of the company said the following inside my home "Don't look at the all negative reviews online, you can't control everything". We ended up using Craig Van Lines for a couple reasons. They were local and they have been in business for three generations. I'll start prior to moving day. Fred Craig (one of the owners) is almost impossible to get ahold of. Not only that, when items were damaged (i'll get into more detail later) they were on vacation and would not handle any claims. Once the movers arrived, it took them 12 hours to load my house ( I unloaded it with 4 guys in 7 hours). They were extremely inefficient. Once the truck was loaded, they were going to call me within 1 hour of delivery. I never received a phone call, instead had to call myself. Now, prior to unloading the driver informed me that my bill would be $4900.00 rather than $3,700 due to weight. I refused to sign and the driver called the office. The movers were then cleared to unload (so I guess they couldn't scam me for another 1k). Two weeks later, upon unloading my storage unit, they had destroyed a 2.5k dollar oven and 2k dollar entertainment center. When I contacted them, they were on vacation and informed me to wait until they got back. I insisted someone help me. Leslie Craig (one of the owners , I'm assuming) was so displeased that I bothered her on vacation, she kindly sent me email that said "take it up with your homeowners insurance". This was the worst business transaction I've EVER had in 37 years........

Hello, this is Fred Craig owner of Craig Van Lines, Inc. I would like to share our side of this complaint.

The consumers move was done on time and on a budget even though customer added additional item after estimate was done. We deliver this customer into a public storage unit and no damages were noted at the time of unloading, only after he or another moving company move his belongings from the storage unit into their permanent house where damages where notice by the customer.

This customer also elected to take out no additional valuation (insurance) for his belongings. The only reason we had suggested to see if he had any coverage with his own homeowners is the fact that he had told me upon not taking additional valuation that it was covered under his insurance.

We here at Craig Van Lines take great pride in our reputation and always try to help our customer with any problem they may have with their move.

Craig Van Lines stole from my storage unit

So, I used Craig Van Lines to move 4.5 years ago. We moved from a large single family home into a much smaller townhouse. Unfortunately, we were not able to get all of our belongings into the house, so Craig Van Lines agreed to store our belongings until we were ready to get it out. Well, 4 and a half years later, we were finally ready to have our belongings delivered. There were a few things in there that I was looking forward to seeing again such as 2 big boxes of DVDs and a dressing table that my wife's when she was a little growing up and a couple things. However, there was one box that I was really looking forward to getting back in my hands. When I was a kid, I was (still am even today) a huge Star Wars fan. I in fact still have all my toys, many with boxes and such. Well, this one box contained a collection of Star Wars glasses that my parents bought for me. I had glasses from the first three original movies. After delivery was completed, this was the very first box that I searched for, but could not find. In fact, the boxes of DVDs were gone as well! I called Craig Van Lines and have basically been told that this is not their problem and they really don't care as long as they are paid. Now, it should be noted that we paid them to store our belongings for 4.5 years and we paid them quite a hefty sum. My phone calls and messages left for the owner (who I was told by his sister, Martha, runs a great company) have not been returned and are of of this date, 2 weeks after delivery ignored. It is my personal opinion that you do not use this company, they are only looking to be paid. And Fred, I am still waiting for my phone call.
